Square headlight on 83 GS1100E???
At first, I didn't think I liked it. Now, I'm starting to warm up to it. I actually think it looks better than that stock 8" solar panel on the front! Opinions????

Personally I prefer the 8" round to the rectangular units. Can't beat the light output from them.Originally posted by 83GS1100E_Tornado View PostAt first, I didn't think I liked it. I like the square headlight on my big bike. It has a very retro look. And I like the body style of the '82-'83 GS1100 better than my '80. So that makes it win-win for me.
Now on my '78 GS1000 I like the original round headlight. It has a kind of Marlon Brando look with the low flat seat, and low bars.

You could always do like solo suzuki as use a trimmed down 1150 fairing mounted bikini style. I have one I plan on doing that to eventually.

Billy, I've got a PERFECT red and black 1150 fairing in the attic that I plan to do the same with. The key defference here is that YOU will actually do it. I will just notice the dusty thing every years when I bring down the Christmas decorations.Originally posted by Billy Ricks View PostMichael,

I've had mine for 3 or 4 years so don't feel bad. I'll be repainting hopefully in the next year so I'll make all the bodywork match and trim the fairing.Originally posted by Bert Patterson View PostBilly, I've got a PERFECT red and black 1150 fairing in the attic that I plan to do the same with. Rifle makes fairings for 8" headlights. A little pricey, but quality stuff from everything I've heard.Originally posted by MichaelHoward View PostI like the 8 inch also. Has been a Biatch finding a decent small fairing that will fit these rascals though!!
