New seat covers £18 (approx $34 USD ) on ebay.
I bought one and was very pleased.

Use black duct tape. It will hold up just the same as other vinyl repair kits, and IMHO look about the same. BTW, my bike is 27 years old, and this link

has my seat cover for 70 bucks. I sewed my own for about $45...wish I had know about this Company before hand. Would have saved a LOT of screwing around.
