I just got a NOS tank for my 81 450L and want to paint the side panels to match the tank (they're already black, just 26 years of fade). Without having to drag the tank with me to get a paint match, does anybody know a color code or off the shelf color that wil closely match the original black?

PPG's 9300 should pretty much get you what you're looking for.

Take the tank to an auto paint store and ask them to match it. Much better method than trying to come up with a code since paint batches change all the time plus the fade factor.Ed
