    The 550's came monoshocked from '83 to '86. Changed over to the GSXR shock though, thanks to nero and skreemer's advice. I don't think the spring rate is quite right, though...its very stiff. I'm guessing that the GSXR uses a different compression/moment arm setup that compresses the shock differently based on weight. The short story is that I need to stand up a little when I go over bumps. But its solid.

      What year GSXR shock did you use? and how did it fit? direct bolt on?
