    Hand Job

Got tired of my nasty old side emblems so I repainted them by hand:

Does anybody have a good suggestion for top clear coat? I use acrylic paints for this. Is a spray lacquer the best or will it work? Whats the best rattle can way to protect this?

I would go with clear from the same manufacturer, it should be compatible.

its a mixed botch of hobby paints that are acrylic. Do I hurt anything by using a lacquer?

I think probably lacquer solvents will eat any acrylic.
        Probably not a good idea.

I wouldn't use lacquer, it will probably lift your paint. Dupli-color makes a clear engine coat with ceramic. It's available at most auto parts stores that sell rattle can paint.

I'd go with acrylic enamel clear. It's probably similar in composition to the hobby paint you used. Surprisingly enough I really like the cheap-o WalMart brand.

I've used the Duplicolor rattle cans with good success. I've re-done all my plastics with Duplicolor rattle cans, and they look good ~

I picked up some triple thick enamel glaze from wally world. This should give it a thick shell. I am going to do the last coat a "dull coat" to get the reflectivity I want.

                        Thanks all!
