Only person ive been able to find is The Tank Shop out of Scotland i think. But, expect to spend a mint, and wait a long time. Im sure there are others, but i dunno....
Benji from BCR (Benji's cafe racers) frequents the Do The Ton Forum, and while they do mostly Honda bikes, I have talked to him a couple times about doing some stuff and he's very willing to. Seems he's getting bored with the same ol same ol.. .

Yep. That is the problem with low volume, custom, EXTREMELY highly skilled artistic work. You get to pay a lot for that skilled time... There are no cheap alternatives that I have ever heard of. Short of making it your hobby and doing your own, that is.Originally posted by TheCafeKid View PostSWEET but STUPID expensive...lol

They are indeed gorgeous! Its a dream of mine to be able to do such a thing someday. Ive been looking at finding some schooling for just such a thing, to no avail yet. Seems to be a dying art.

Unfortunatly, you are right! I just don't have the time to learn how to build tanks.Originally posted by Mark M View PostYep. www.storzperf.com has a beauty listed for $1050.00.
I think the part # is 883-RR. It is listed for a Harley but it sure is pretty.2@ \'78 GS1000

The Cafekid is partly right about the Tank Shop in Scotland - though I think they are competitively priced and they were pretty quick for a mate's BSA cafe racer. Their workmanship is absolutely first class - works of art. I've seen what I think is their stuff selling for way more secondhand too.
Exchange rate and postage may of course be a bummer for anyone in the US though.

Wow - I'm really sorry to hear this. He hadn't been on the forum for long, but I specifically remember some of his posts here. They were refreshing and funny and intelligent. Very sad to hear he left so unexpectedly, and thanks for letting us know.Originally posted by davewallen View Postwhile going through dave's things i found this.got a laugh.i'm sure david would have found this usuful. two nights ago, david suffered a massive heartattack and died. the bike...my boyfriend actually wants it.he feels connect to david through it. i felt it necessary to share this news with all of those that left him comments.
