Building my custom tank

Actually...i dont think i like it to tell the truth. I think i liked black better. The paint isnt as dark as it looked on the can. Almost a metal flake gold...lil too much bling i think.

Well I got one side mostly shaped.





I did all of my shaping with a serrated knife

I was also thinking about adding air intakes to the sides but I don't really like it

sweet! Ive fumigated the house tonight...aka painted my frame. Its turning out pretty good tho. I may have brain damage however. The price to pay i suppose.

I don't want to highjack; but Dude, you gotta be careful. Painting in the basement? Furnace?? Water heater?? No open flames down there right?

Now the hard part is going to be to make the other side look identical. because your going to be able to sit there and look at both sides at once.

Shouldnt be super tough...just be patient with it. I did that thumping to my tank, and while i did use a pattern, it didnt all dent the same, had to eyeball quite a bit, and deal with things trying to throw me off, like the tank badge mounts not being identical...go figure.

I don't think it will be to tough just a lot of work trying to get it to match. But it will all be worth it.

Indeed! I sprayed the rest of that frame...looks much better after it dries..lil darker. I think i like it.

Not yet but I need to I got a lot of little spots and cracks that I need to fill in
