What do y'all do with your choke cable?

Hey all. I've got a '79 GS850 that I'm slowly hooking up. I like the cleaner look after removing the handlebar cover but the choke cable sticks out a lot and looks a little fugly. What do y'all do?

I don't know if its similar but on my GS it was routed through the steering stem

You could bin it altogether and replace with the side lever set up down on the carbs.

I like that idea. Is there a stock setup from some other bike that I could use to replace my cable?

Get the choke rod with the lever off an earlier GS 750 or 1000, you have to drill and tap a hole for the friction screw.

            Like this, eh?

Is the carb body different to incorporate the friction screw? I think I'll spring for these anyway as having another set of carbs never seems like a bad idea. Thanks for the info!
