I thought I was just catching up with YOU! Don't you already have an 1100 swingarm on yours?Bruce, you need to stop one-upping me. I'm simply running out of time (and $$$) keeping up with you and all your mods. Really, you should spend more time with the wife and kids. Maybe take up boating, rebuilding clocks or something. Anything. For the love of Pete, just stop improving the skunk. You're killing me over here. :-|Last edited by Guest; 04-12-2008, 10:20 PM.Comment

This will be all I have left. Got the temp gauge installed awhile back, then swingarm and new pipe... and I'm done with the Skunk.... oh, except I'll be getting it repainted next winter. :-D
I've got to get going on the other 1000 project. I'm WAY behind on that one.Comment

Got the swingarm installed today. Here it is with the 1100 chainguard:

and the other side:

The chain adjusters look weak up against the swingarm... I think I'll have them chromed, just for 8track. :-D
The bike is filthy. I'm going to scrub her down, especially the front of the motor, and get the pipes on. Then a complete wash and detail, and she's ready for the season! Just in time, too. It's finally getting nice around here!\\

Yeah, she's a real pig, completely filthy.
That bike is cleaner than my tools on their best day. I like the look of the aluminum peaking out below the chain guard. Ever think about running with no guard?1981 GS650G , all the bike you need

No guard? No, I never thought of that. Do you think it would look good that way?
Do they make chrome chains? :twisted:Comment

I envy your work Bruce!!! Very nice. I love the polished look; I just don't love having to do it every two weeks because of the salt air. Be thankful for your climate!

Bruce man i gotta say that it looks AMAZING! I have the same swinger on my cafe project, but i dont have the patience, nor the want to polish it and keep it that way. Much respect for having such. ( i just painted mine aluminum silver again

Don't do it. It's messy. Get one off a early 1100L. They were chrome and should bolt right up.
What about those weak front brakes...
