    Protecting a chrome fender?

I've got a chrome fender that had some VERY tiny rust spots on it which buffed out easily with a little Mothers'. It's also got some rust on the underside, which of course is common.

What should I do to prevent the small spots on the top from coming back, and the rust underneath from getting worse?

Should this have been posted in Technical?

Just use a good wax. Works great.

And for the inside? Should I attempt to buff out that rust as well?

I would buff it out with a soft wire brush. Then get some of that undercoating spray from the parts store. Put a light coat on it. That should keep it from rusting further.

Great. Thank you. I just didn't want to do anything that would make it worse, you know?

Just make sure it's as clean as possible before you spray it. That undercoating stuff is pretty tough.... it should hold up well.
