New Project-- 1980 450 SX Pics!!

Hey Guys!
I just finished my 650 gl cafe bike..then this 1980 450SX with 9,456 miles-just fell into my lap--I answered a craigslist ad just to see the story on the bike ..he sent pics and it was the SX!! Which is awesome because it has the cafe style tank on it..the same tank I almost bought for my 650 for $250 on Ebay--Bike is running but needs to be gone through which I was going to do anyway -Headers have rust on them but I found the cheapest and best looking way to get rid off that....Exaust wrap!!!-The best part--he said "Take IT"!!! after I showed him the pics of my last project!! He hasnt been able to ride and wanted to see it go to a good home...yes..parked right next to my 650!! haha--and its my birthday too ..how things work out! Luckily this bike IS chain driven so finally can do spokes on it!! Colors Im thinking of are British Racing Green..and Might just Black out the engine..Im going for a early 60's Norton Look for this bike--any other paint Ideas would be great!!

chrome the tank! White frame red seat section and fender. Clubmans and rearsets and don't forget them spokes! Maybe even a small fly screen or fairing but less is more right.

Besides the tank is there anything special about a SX model? Just curious.

Gold trimmed wheels, bikini fairing and bar-end mirrors. Other than that I have yet to find any difference between the E and S.

Good. I'm about to chop one and wouldn't want to find out I've chopped something that is rare to find and worth more to me to sell. It's not in good condition so I think I'm fairly safe.

update--paint and things

hey guys--Just an update on my progress--Paint is almost done,did it myself!! ya...new bars ,mirrors seat that I got off Ebay from some guy in Austallia which is a Ducati SS seat-Fits perfect and really goes with the tank well-Just need to make a seat pad..might just go to a place and say make it for this...haha-New rear shocks soon--got off a Harley there 12inch rather than the stock 13s but should be fine-Nothing left to rub on because I took all the rear under laying stuff off--Let me know info anyone wants info on the seat--Also looking for a British style headlight housing that has the Speedo gauge spot to get rid of the whole cluster...its big and ugly!!!

Haha--Ya I know...The more I look at it, it looks like C3PO..--I was going for a different color scheme--Now I should do a starwars theme...haha

THAT one you can fit a nice set of spoke wheels to. The color is nice. You do good cafe work!! keep it up
