Custom exhaust work of any sort is expensive around here.
I have a new Kerker header and a new Yosh muffler that will only fit if i take off the rear footpeg frame member. I do not want to hack up the frame so i am going to get a small angled mid-pipe made up.
Any thoughts of putting an "S" fairing [black with gold stripes, of course]on the bike?
    Steve.

These guys have a good reputation, and do a lot of work for the club racers.

No go on the fairing I'm afraid. The primary aim of this restoration was to take the bike back to the way the previous owner had it. It belong to a family friend that died in an auto accident, and they're presenting it to one of his nephews as a 21st present. I've had him involved in the restoration to give him a sense of ownership too. He's going to love it

I do like those 1000S models tho'.
      cheers

        Ian,
I checked out you website; the pics are a little small , but very nice restoration. Looks like you are an old hand at bikes. Maybe post some high res pics once you get the emblems and tank back on the bike.

Thanks Jim. Yeah, the pics are small, but I'm hosting them with photobucket, and they *still* seem to take forever to download.

Rest assured, I have all the hi-res sitting here on my 'puter ;-)

          cheers

Nice looking work, mate. I am assuming this is the same Ian I sold a seat pan to. If so, I'm glad I could contribute to the project. Be sure to post up some pictures when the work's all done.

Yeah Jim, thanks. I checked out his site, and I think it's the same project.

I'll pm you concerning the fairing. Don't want to hijack Ian's thread.

                    Nearly there...

Well guys, it's been awhile, but I can see light at the end of the tunnel. I'm just waiting on a new front master reservoir to come via ebay, then we're off to get a roadworthy cert., then registration

Got the paint back from the spray painter who did the final clear coat for me, and it looks good.

                    ...and the tank...

Big thanks to Tom for the seat pan. What a pain that was. Turned out good as well. Used a dark grey pipping as a bit of contrast.

Anyway, thanks for you help guys. You've been a great help in solving all sorts of issues. I'll have 1 more pic to post I think when she's back on the road, but we're so close I can smell it. Or is that the new paint? mmmmmm. fresh paint

I haven't updated my project site with these new pics, but I'll get around to it soon: http://home.iprimus.com.au/ianfox/gs1100/

                            Looks great, Ian.
Checking the before pics on your project site and the almost finished pics here sure do show the huge amount of work you have invested.
I also see a Honda F tailpiece in a pic. Do you have a project site link available for that bike as well?

Thanks Steve. Sharp eye you have my friend
As a matter of fact, I do have that little project documented too. While I've been working on the zook for a family friend, the CBs are my first passion.

Try this link http://home.iprimus.com.au/ianfox/ss01.htm for a bit of background.

                              And just as a teaser:
