Thanks for all the comments guys!
Third.
The first looked like crap (except the muffler).
The second (the latest one) looked great but I think the lines didn't match the rear of the bike properly.
The third: best of all worlds.

We (me and my old man) got ourselves an early Christmas present. What you ask?
A 200A AC/DC TIG welder. Should come in handy for future projects!

All in all I think it landed at around $2600 for the welder and everything around it. Expensive as hell some would say but a welding job here and there for a few people and you've earned back that sum in no time.
Also tacked together the new hanger for the exhaust. I think it looks pretty good!

Don't say can't, as anything is possible with time and effort, but, if you don't have time things get tougher and require more effort.Comment

Agreed. Feels awesome to be able to work with stuff in the garage that would normally require hours of going back and forth between the garage and the workshop at my old man's work.
You know, I think anyone can become an able bike builder, welder, painter or whatever given the proper interest and the proper tools. I've had the good fortune of having a father who is very interested in both cars and bikes so most of what I know (theoretically) I've gotten from him but practical stuff I've learned by myself with some guidance.
Resumed work on the exhaust hanger today. I'm pretty pleased with it so far.
Gonna turn some bungs on the lathe which will go on the tube ends which will then be bolted to the subframe using two pop-nuts. Gotta say though, being able to weld steel, stainless, aluminium and titanium in the garage is quite luxurious.

Gonna order some nice locking nuts from Pro-Bolt now I think. Wouldn't want to ruin the exhaust with anything less than titanium nuts.

Mindless, I've managed so far to avoid replying to your thread... no idea how because I've followed it for ages.
That exhaust is just plain awesome, and that bracket will definitely suit it to a T.
I absolutely love the pipe the local guys at Tranzac here made for me, but that one of yours is on a whole different planet... completely different end goal too of course

Managed to finish the exhaust hanger tonight. Turned out really good.
Started out earlier today by turning two bungs on the lathe which would then bolt to the frame (using two 6mm pop nuts (rivets that are threaded on the inside)).

After that it was just a matter of notching the tubes at the proper angle to get them flush against the bungs. Took a while to get it 100%.

Then I tacked it up, removed the bracket and welded it on the side. Funny how the welds you wont see always turn out the best....
Here's what I ended up with.

Bolted to the frame. The blue dots you see was where I originally intended to put it but this was a much better idea.

From the side.

Gonna start working on the bodywork this week I hope. I want to start putting paint on the bike soon...Comment
