A quick seat question

Does anybody know if a 78 550e seat is compatible with an '80 550e bike. I REALLY hate my current seat, and so I am trying to find a replacement. I am going to recover it regardless. I really don't want to just hack up my seat. Does anyone sell foam that would be in the stock shape?

It's not available stock any more... not sure about the 78 550 but I do know the 78 1000 & the 80 do not interchange.

Your best bet is to keep an eye on Ebay for a replacement.

If it's the hinged type it should fit (at least it does on the UK models for those years). However, they changed design in either 80 or 81 to a lift off seat and these are not interchangeable.
