what were the stock colors for the 1983 1100 e ? and is there some way to tell what the original color of a bike was I.E. color code or certain vin number

Do a search; The Suzuki color codes are all listed in the micro fiche and Rusty Bronco has posted a cross reference to standard colors for those.

I am in the process of getting my NOS gas tank painted (yes, the immaculate red one I bought off Ebay). It has been cross-referenced to a Porsche blue. I'll let you know how it works out. The panels were cross referenced to the original tank with the same colour and looked too close to call, now the new tank will be the same colour. I'll compare it to the original tank to see how well it has worked out.
