    GK seat on a G?

I kinda dig the looks of the GK seat, except I'd prefer not to have the cloth'ey looking material on top. Anybody know if a GK seat will fit a G? 1981 that is. Also, how do the two compare in the comfort department. I find my G seat to be pretty comfy.

2001 Yamaha FZ1 (bought same one back)

Nope, it will not fit an '81. Different seat pan entirely and different frame mounts.

We put a G seat on a GK, it was identical except for the grab handles on the side of the G seat interfere with the frame for the trunk on the GK. I think the GK seat had a slightly bigger step. Same mounts, same pan.
I am not sure which year each bike was.

Hmmmm. Just thinking out loud here. My seat is in such good shape though, I doubt I'll mess with it.

It would fit on an 82 850/1100, but his 1000G has a different seat and hinge design altogether..

            I thought he had a 1100G.
Mind reading from this distance is difficult sometimes.
