adding decals .... what's the process

I'm buying a set of bodywork that is painted and cleared a solid color already. It has no decals. I want to ad the suzuki decals.

Do I need to clear coat after I add them. What is the process for this.

    thanks

and this was my 1k post.

Vinyl decals will be okay without clear coat, but more durable with, but thinner type graphics need the clear if you want them to hold up to normal usage.

I’d scuff the parts with a gray scotchbrite or 1000 grit sandpaper (after degreasing of course), apply the graphics of choice, and then clear over the top. It takes a couple of days typically for the graphics to really bite into the existing paint so I’d hold off on painting right away. The type of clear depends on what kind of paint is on the parts now but I think you are typically safe with some sort of urethane, even when applied over lesser finishes.

      Ness,

Does this require a spray gun. Is there a canned version of clear I can use. Can I simply just clear the decaled area?
