Lester or Enkei wheels on a GS..?

Hey Fellas,

I have seen a few GS bikes 'round here with what looks like Lester or Enkei wheels ala KZ1000/900/750. If that is the case, what is needed to swap the wheels say from an early 80's KZ1000 on to my GS750?

Simple really, I like the look of the KZ mag wheels w/straight spokes better than the star pattern mags on the GS's.

At an exchange rate of 1.6 I am not even close to spending $4,424 on wheels for a $1,200 motorcycle.

Both Lester and Morris made this style of wheel that could be used on a GS series bike. You might see them listed on ebay or even Craig's list once in a while. I don't know what differences there are between the Kwacker and GS wheels, but I suspect very little. Should be possible with only a spacer or some other minor tweaks. Ray

Just pulling your leg. Don't expect anyone to shell out half a fortune for a set of exotic magnesium wheels.

For the front wheel:

First I'd make sure the discs are the right size for the calipers. If they aren't, you'll have to make offset plates for the calipers.

Second I'd find out the spacing between the discs. If it doesn't match, you'll have to make spacers (either for the discs or the calipers).

Lastly I'd figure out what kind of spacers I needed for the bearings and the spindle so the actual wheel fits into the forks.

For the rear wheel:

Basically the same procedure, but here you need to make sure the chain aligns instead.

Besides that, nothing special.

Speedo drive in the front needs to be delt with

Sprocket chain line, and rear disc alignment is a factor.
