    headlight trim

I had my '77 GS750 at a show and shine last summer and a guy noted that my headlight bucket was actually from a Vetter fairing. It suprised the heck out of me because I had never noticed it. I want to get if back to stock and I have a stock bucket from my parts bike but I cannot figure out how to remove the chrome ring. There are 3 slots on the inside that you can see from the photos...maybe they are a clue.

    thanks in advance

Anyone know how to remove the trim without breaking it?

    Headlight

You might want to consider a whole headlight assembly, because the ring is different and not OE as well.

For sure I want to do that but I need to take that ring off in order to remove that bucket. Any ideas on how to do that?

On the bottom side of the chrome trim is a tab. depress it and rotate the ring anti-clockwise?? until it stops, then pull it off.

Thank you...it is exactly as you describe.

Although now that I have the ring off it seems like that Vetter headlight assembly is a better unit than the Suzuki one I was going to put on. hmm
