    gs 550 tail piece on a gs1000e

does anyone know if this tailpiece will fit on a 1000E with out to much modification? i like the lip on the back rather than the smooth/slanted one on the standard 1000E

    cheers

The 550 box is quite a lot smaller than the 1000 item - narrower and shorter. I can't see that it could be made to fit very easily other than either by cutting in half and adding a bit in the middle or by converting to a 550 back end, which would be tricky to make look in proportion.

Probably your best bet would be to get a 1000 box and cut and fibreglass it to look more like the 550 box.

?25 is a bit pricey too - there's loads of 550 butty boxes out there.

the ebay was just as an example of what i want, just fancy a spoiler type lip on the tail piece. maybe a z1000mk2 or similar may fit. will have to do some googling

Try the '81/82 J model Kawi, '81/'82 GPZ1100 and 750 along with the ELR Kawi 1000.
