    This is what he means:

Probably a wiser investment, but doesn't quite have the cool factor, IMO

Yeah I know, but the buy-from-a-guy-in-china deal seems sketchy, and I KNOW Paypal protects purchases and so does eBay, yadayadayada. If he's still around in a few weeks I'll probably get one and be the test rat.

While he doesn't have 100% positive feedback, he appears to have sold a number of these on ebay. My main concern would be with the quality of the item, and other buyers seem satisfied. There are lots of products out of China these days that show good innovation of existing designs, but often the build quality & materials used, let them down.

If this is the same guy selling Chinese rear sets, I bought a set for one of my Bandits and while I have not installed them yet, they look to be quite nice (surface finish could use a little work) and came in a timely manner.

and as for swapping it off yer 1150.... the gauges are as iconic as the huge round headlight... would be a bit like throwing it's soul out!... lol

That's true, and I struggle with that. Train headlight, coupled with shoebox size guage cluster = iconic, I guess. It does work, and there's nothing wrong with it, AND, I've got a spare I can use for parts if need be.
