i just looked at the tank and almost all of the cloudyness dissapeared! very sexy looking thing.. its candy apple red i will try to get better pics in the sun.. the pics i took were in the dark with the flash on... on the corners of some of the side covers there are some cloudy drips but that doesnt seem like its gonna be much of a problem.. a lot of stress has been lifted off my shoulders when i saw much of it has dissapearedJohn 3:16 -

hahaha that brings my spirit up just reading that, and thank you all for your replies i am definitely going to be patient and do it on a nice sunny day next time.. thanks tkent for that post, when it comes time i am going to try out that headlight restoration kit...
edit: btw do you guys think i should ride the bike tommorow? (i really friggin want to) the tank is full of gas so i wont be filling up anytime soon to avoid the disaster that happened to me last time.. i'll polish in about a week or two but if its really hard by tommorow noon do you think its okay to ride it? oh and also do you think i should leave it in the sun tommorow? I wouldn't ride it for at least a week. The seat will rub the paint and damage it.Ed

Check this paint baking booth.
Temp got nice and toasty inside after closing the lid to speed cured the paint. Even after doing something like this I still wouldn't ride the bike until the paint fully hardened.

I had just shot the last layers of clear when I bumped the tank off the stand and it tipped over and flopped top side down on the concrete.
Surreal experience, and not in a good way.
Put the tank in that heated chest so it would cure enough over night to color sand and reclear the next day. All worked out in the end.

haha i can picture that happening.. the pain and agony... last year i made a thread on after i finished my "beautiful black tank" with crap clear coating.... the next day (made seat creases all over the tank btw) i went to the pump and BECAUSE i was just so damn meticulous about even the slightest drop i somehow managed to pull it out while it was still fueling.. BAM ALL OVER THE TANK my life was flashing before my eyes as seconds later the entire job started to bubble up and lift HAHAHAHAHAA man im so glad i can laugh at it now because now its candy apple red so it all worked out in the end...I had just shot the last layers of clear when I bumped the tank off the stand and it tipped over and flopped top side down on the concrete.

You had there what's called "blushing".Very lucky it did go away,most times it's pemanent.Only way to get rid of it is to sand and reclear.Comes from humidity while spraying.Comment

dropped one of the side covers face down into the cement, im not even ****ed lol, you win some you loose some.. thats a bird feather on the tank btw not a scratch... what do you guys think? i think after some polishing ill get that finish i really wantJohn 3:16Comment

Looks Great!
I love that color red, it's almost the exact same shade I have on my '73 Triumph Spitfire. Looks really nice, especially in good sunlight. Be careful installing them back on the bike, fresh paint can scratch easy. Ohh and be careful filling with gas
