I just bought a project ('82 gs1100gk). The touring stuff is long gone and I'm thinking a sport/semi-cafe. I was looking at a Corbin seat for a gs1100e. Corbin didn't seem to know if it would fit on a gk. Any insight or suggestions?

The 1100E and 1100GK seats are vastly different.
Absolutely NO chance of one fitting the other.

Thanks, that is what I suspected. My seat pan is totally rotted and I wanted to avoid a traditional cafe-type seat. I'm on the other side of 50 and don't think me and a cafe seat would get along.Comment

yeah perhaps a G model seat would work but I also have a GL here and I know it doesnt work.Comment

You will need a seat that fits a G model for the GK.
