Go for it! In reality, none of them will look the same as another one so they are pretty much a one off every time. Saves money and its recycling.

This helmet had a plastic shell so i dont know what a fibreglass shell would be like to cut etc apart from making you itchy.

The worst part of the whole thing was the fumes, i had to step out of the garage afew times for a breather.

If you make one put up some pics!

    Cheers Josh

Helmet was a Large, coz i have a big head lol

Now what type of visor do you think would go with this? I want it to cover the gauges atleast and provide some kind of wind defence for me.

I could stick with the theme and use a full face helmet visor

I actually think the visor would look great covering the instruments!

I was building a new muffler today so no work on the visor just yet.

+1 on the helmet visor, they arent that expensive and come in a variety of shades, not to mention being a direct fit.

got me eyeballing an old lid too

I'm picturing the old visor snapped on upside down so it sticks up as a wind screen, you just unsnap it for warm weather riding. Brilliant!

Guess what? Woodsy shared this idea with me via PM before starting this thread... and that's exactly what he was thinking of doing
