Blackest black what chuck? Rattle can spray paint? Urethane base coat? Engine paint? Sounds like Renobruces bike caught your eye.

The redish brown is primer over where the paint was peeling. It looks way worse than it really is.

Dale is going to paint his skunk Chuck. Why not ask him to get you some paint when he gets that far? Dale is pretty anal about that sort of stuff, plus his wife works in a body shop so they can get the materials for a good price I suspect.

Did the '78 original black paint have a bit of blue flake in it like the '79 has or was it just black? If so I have a paint code that's a perfect match.

According to Alpha Sports colour charts they where the same. Black Pearl Bluing 06T. I had my damaged tail piece painted to match my NOS tank and even in bright sun and holding them side by side you cannot tell the diffence. Anyway, if you're going to go stock the code is from a 2000 Honda Civic NH592P known as Flamenco Black Pearl. Any paint shop will have the colour chips for you to look at.

Dupont paint code 99k is the paint mixers standard when someone asks for straight black. Any mixer should know it.

                            Edited to correct.

That number can be crossed to any brand of paint btw. Just visit your preferred paint vendor and give them that number. My skunk is painted in SW paint in 99k with GM Championship White for the stripe.

I think it's the actual Honda code, also came some Acuras.
