GS 550L Single Seat Mod

Hi,

Now that I have my pods and jetting sorted on my 1981 GS 550L (Posts in Tech Section) I was thinking about converting my seat into a single.

Now I could probably modify my stock seat but once I get stuck in with the saw there is no going back and I have no idea what it would look like so Im asking if anyone has done it and can show me some pics or offer advice.

You could make your own seat base with fiberglass by covering that part of the bike with cling wrap (the stuff you use to keep your food fresh in the refrigerator) and have a company put foam and a cover on it.

check here they have solo seat for sale, you may have to do a little cutting, welding and drilling but it could work
