I finished up the blasting cage today. so I thought I would take my HF sand blaster for a small test run.

I 'hope' to get started blasting the skunks frame this Wednesday after work. let the de-stinking begin!!!

Octain, I thought everyone liked to see detailed BIG pictures?

Yes, I do have goggles and a respirator. the media is black diamond coal slag with less than 1% silica. it costs around $7 for a 50 Lb bag.

I still have to make a hood and get a tyvek suit before I get started blasting. plus I'm going to need the suit for when I paint it anyway. I still need to get it to the car wash to get the pigeon crap and grease off the frame before I embed that into the steel.

Ed, the 'booth' is three sided. the two long sides are 4' high by 8' long and the end between them is 6' long. I do have pictures of it clamped together, but I might wait until I set up again before posting them. I made the frame up so I don't have to chase the media all around the driveway. in retrospect, I should have made it 6' tall.

Setv up some of the halogen construction lights that have their own stand for lighting..just keep them back far enough they dont melt the plastic sheeting.

I cant believe you still got the pigeon poop on it...That was a funny sight. I remember how much was on it when i first saw it at that guys place.. You still got the pics that you took when i got it to my house?? What a mess!!!

If this is a silly question, please excuse me. But, wouldn't it be easier to have it dipped? And for that matter, doesn't sand blasting tend to hide some faults like small cracks? Just interested for future reference.
