
If you look close you can see all the dust and crap that stuck to it because I had to leave it out in the sun with the wind blowing... at least it sanded off easy!
So here's where it sits after about an hour's worth (on and off) of sanding by hand with the 60 grit paper:

You can see that about half is now a suitable level, but I still need to do some more filling of the rest.
The right side is the worst, especially around the lower guard rail mounting hole.
The rest isn't too bad at all and a thin layer will fix most of that.
I'd love to finish that up tonight but I'm knackered after my week on call so am gonna hit the hay real soon and get some zzzzzzzz's. Hopefully tomorrow night I'll get back down and put the next layer on and sand it if there's time and if I can mix up the right ratio of hardener to filler.
One positive thing at this point though is that I'm very happy with the overall shape of the tail piece now, it just needs finishing.
