Chrome seat rail Polish help/Please

Ok,
So I finally got around to polishing and removing the oxidation from the seat rail Mr.Yarrish sold me

Progress:
I removed the stuff with Medium grit Steel-Wool. I then went over it with #0000 wool with some Mothers Chrome Polish, then Buffed my brains out of course. :roll:

Question:
How do I try and get the little fine scratches out that the wool left /or/ can I??

Do not own buffer or buffing wheel bench thingy- ma - jig.

Maybe try some 2000 grit wet n dry paper, a bit like you would use on the fork tubes before replacing the seals
