Well She's all painted up nice and pretty. it's in the booth drying as I type.
I did get a little bit of dust in it as the booth hadn't been cleaned after the changed the filters.

Stan, that black singe stage looks really nice, especially when you finish it off with two coats of clear.

And then disaster struck...

the padding on the stand acted like two rollers and the seat pan slid across the pads while it was baking. it looks like I may have to start over.

no worries here... it really was a bit of a fun project.

There's no place to hang things from in the booth.

the seat pan easily sat across the stand with room to spare. the padding was loose on the frame and down it slid until it caught the edge of the pan.

Oh the padds slipped...i see the quandry now.

After the pan was sand blasted, I hit it with two coats of epoxy let it set 5 days, scuffed it with a red scotchbrite and hit the top side with high build primer. then after a couple more days I blocked it with 320. when I got off work last night I gave it a final coat of epoxy. today I tacked it off, shot one coat of SSU on the seat bottom, waited 10 mins and gave it the second coat of SSU. 15 minutes later the first of two coats of clear went on, let it set for another 15 mins and shot the second coat of clear, flipped the seat pan over and shot two coats of SSU on the foam side. let it flash for ten mins and dialed the heat in the booth up to 130 degrees.

after 20 minutes 'baking' I flipped the lights back on and the rest is history.

Damn, that is just unacceptable, such shoddy workmanship, strip it down to the base and redo it, I can not condone anything less than perfect......

Just kidding Dale, from what I can see, once you put the foam back on and the cover, those little marks on the edge aren't visible, nothing to worry about, they will be covered, no harm done, anything outside of that, I am sure a touch up would be more than good enough.

Stan, there's still the matter of the 75 X 15mm gouge and trash from the pad on the visible side of the seat pan. I'll look at it a bit more this weekend, but I don't think it can be repaired.
