Need ideas for tail/rear fender mod on 78 GS550

I have the stock rear piece with the bulky light. I got a chrome rear fender from a later model and want to give the rear end the classic look. I was hoping some people could post some pics of their mod'd rear and seat works etc.

As I haven't any experience and knowledge on the subject the best idea I could think of is the search function under 'tail light'.
