NEVER SNEAK UP ON A SLEEPING DOG..NOT EVEN YOUR OWN.
I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.Comment

Being the holes are that small, they can be welded closed, then grind down smooth, repaint and you would never know they were there. And being in the area you are, I would do just that, leaving them open could cause some internal rust down the road.Comment

yeah i had no intention of leaving it open but i dont know how to weld and was seeing if there was an alternativeComment

Plumber's epoxy from the plumbing section of the hardware store.....duh
A two part epoxy putty that you knead together. hardens in 15 minutes or so rock hard. Can be sanded and painted. Easy fix.
Good luck,

To be honest if I already had it drilled I'd just mount it with that, stick threaded rod or bolt through there. I don't see the big deal.Comment
