    Factory paint 08E

I bought the factory touch-up paint used on my 1980 GS850 off Ebay for the paltry sum of $2 plus shipping. Now I'll find out what kind of paint was used on it from the factory.

Steve, I think you're right. That $2.54 cents I paid for it including shipping was just a bit too much!

That was just a sarcastic ribbing by the way..Did you get it yet or is it in transit? Is that basically enought to do a full repaint if you wanted to????

I just bought and paid for it 15 minutes ago.

If I have it figured correctly, they should each be a 90 gram tin (3 oz). I suspect it to be a base and mid coat, or primer and base but I won't be sure until I get it. There was some 08J paint on ebay recently and it was a can of black (??) and a can of red by the looks of it.

What I meant was, I'll find out what 'material' the paint is made out of. I.E. urethane base coat or ??? The colour I know about, as I tried touching up the NOS fender I bought which was damaged in shipment.

FYI. A local body shop found a perfect match for that same code on my '79 GS1000. There is a colour code on the w/o of NH592P but the description is Flamenco Black Pearl and it is a 2000 Honda car colour. If I hold the tail piece beside my stock tank in the bright sun even the metal flake in it is a perfect match.
