Paint new PVC or leave it

I ordered a new chain guard and while the color is fine (black) it's PVC and I know that plastic is prone to weathering. Should I paint it with a good plastic paint or should it really be fine so long as I keep the bike garaged?

    Thoughts/opinions?

The original Suzuki chain guards were black plastic and they pretty much last forever. Not sure about aftermarket though.

This is an OEM part. Took so long to get here I think they had to ship it from Japan.

I would just use some plastic protectant like Armor-all or Bumper Black.(< for rubber bumper guards)

So long as I keep that crap off the tire. I discovered the squirreliness that I was experiencing last week on the back tire was some of that kind of protectant that had gotten on the drive surface of the tire.

A scrub brush with some good soapy water thankfully fixed that. She rides a lot better now. Only going to spray into the rag from now on!
