Case Guards: Still confused about the long bolt

Can someone post a picture of where the long bolt I got with my case guard is supposed to go? I ride a 1978 GS 750.

Long bolt goes in front of the engine. It replaces the stock long bolt that will be too short when you install the guards.

Post a photo of your guards - I didn't get a long bolt just a shorter nut for the front top mount.

Here they are... looks like the slotted hole goes on the bottom beneath the case and the top one bolts straight to the frame. Is the idea that when I remove one of these from the frame what I'll find is not two short bolts on either side, but instead one long one that goes all the way through?

The double ended 'stud' you were given is to replace #15 in this drawing.

My guards are different, but I agree with rusty, it's the front bottom.

The long bolt goes in FRONT of the engine...just as I already said.

Was looking for a picture though -- "in the front" wasn't helping. Now I get it. Thanks for the pic rusty.
