Tank options

I'd like some input on tanks. I have a 79' gs1000e. Does anyone know if the 82' 1100 tank will fit the frame rails? I can see the mount tabs are different since the 82' tank has two tabs in the rear and the original 79' tank has only one.

Changing up that rear mount shouldn't be too much of a hassle. I'm mainly concerned about the fitment over the frame.

The 80/81 1100E tanks fit although there is an issue with the Petcock hitting the top of the CV carbs so you have to change that....

I have VM's...not CV's.

Sorry that's what I meant... the petcock will hit the VM's. (The CV's are flatter on top so there is clearance).

Here's pics of the 1100 tank I bought from you fitted on 78 GS1000 unaltered carb tops etc. Was close but had no fitment issues.
