    Primer

Once you have your parts primed (ABS and or metal parts), do you need to paint soon or can it wait for some time? Days, a couple weeks or even a month?

    Years.

I had some hardshell fiberglass saddlebags that I primered about 8 years ago then painted them about 5 years later. Still fine.

Okay cool, I can get some priming out of the way then....oh, forgot does that go for the ABS plastic adhesion promoter as well?

Well I can't see how it would be any different. I have never used the stuff myself and always just sprayed the primer. I've used good quality primers as well as the cheap stuff and have never had any difficulties with either. I know some guys mention using additives for painting parts that may flex like fenders but I've never used those either and again no issues.

Give it a try. Worst case you might have to sand and recoat but I'm betting it will work fine.

        Good luck with it.
