1978 GS400X Seat Woes

Hello good people, I've got a bit of a problem with my seat.

The seat I currently have came with the bike when I purchased it, and I always had noticed how unevenly it sat on the bikes rear plastic. Come to find out, it is from an '82 GS450E, which has a very different looking seat than the '78.

My question now is this... What seats will fit correctly on a 1978 GS400? I have seen some similar seats from late 70's 425, but some look slightly different. Do any other models have seats of the same size that may fit?

The seat I have now works, but it doesn't fit up to the rear plastic and sort of presses on it the wrong way.

Hey mate, welcome! A picture or two would help a lot in this case.

The 450E seat definitely won't be a straight swap but as for the other model 400's and the 425 I'm not sure, it would have to be a measure/view/test type thing.

The parts fiche indicates your seat is shared with the '78 400C and that's about it, but Suzuki will change part numbers for the littlest things like colour, so there may indeed be others that fit.
