Very nice. My compliments to the chef.I've been working on my EFE over the winter and am pretty much finished. The paint needs a little adjusting but that's manageable as the paint work is not yet completed. It's sitting in it's ES trim right now and the white is a couple of shades too bright. That's easily adjusted with a couple more coats of the pearl white I have. I did a white base coat with the pearl white on top and stopped at 2 coats, could probably use 2 more coats. Question though, I'm thinking I should switch the ES fairing mid pieces to blue instead of white, I think it will balance out the looks a bit better. What say you guys? Otherwise I'm real happy with it. When the weather warms up I'll finish up some paint work on the EF fairing panels, apply the GS750EF decals I had made up to right side fairing. It had some road rash and needed refinishing. I kind of like the looks of the ES trim better than the EF even though the EF is not as common. I plan to complete it as the EF but it really doesn't take long to switch between the two.

The blue on the right side is the factory original paint, only the fender and side panel are painted. The left side had some road rash on it but at least it wasn't broken. I should have taken this picture yesterday while i was it because the white on upper fairing and front fender when I looked at it closer is so close to a perfect match I'm just going to clear coat it after I do the decals and stripe. For some reason must have applied a little more of the pearl than I did with ES parts. The blue however is quite a bit off and needs redoing. All paint was off the shelf Dupli-Color with the blue being a GM Brite Blue Metallic and I'll have to respray with one that's a better match. The other one I looked at was called Tahiti something and I think it looks to be a much better match. I'll try and grab a can this afternoon but won't be painting again for a while. The white however is real close to perfect. It's Dupli-Color general purpose gloss white as a base coat and probably 3 coats of Hyundai Powder White Pearl (CBHY1805). The wonderful folks at Bdesigns.ca were great at making me up a set of GS750EF decals from their GS750ES file and didn't even charge extra for a setup fee, $29.00 cdn to the door for a pair. The black I have to decide whether or not to paint it or run it over to TrimLine and have them tape it.

Thanks, Suzuki automotive has a "shiny white pearl" code ZGB. It looks pretty darn close, and being from Suzuki, it might, just might be a match. I will be spraying it in a month or so. Until then I need to find a match for the "space blue metallic, code O4Y", as a few of the paint shops here cannot find that code in their systems for mixing.
cheers,

Yeah, spent hours chasing paint codes for this and kept coming up empty. Even took some pieces to be scanned and they couldn't come with a match so I decided to do the trial and error method. I'm really happy with the white and when I do the lower EF fairing in proper light I'm pretty sure it will be a perfect match. I'll let you know how the blue I get turns out. Maybe I'll just do a sample spray on something when I get it.'84 GS750EF (Oct 2015 BOM) '79 GS1000N (June 2007 BOM)Comment

OK. I think I've got a suitable match for the Space Blue Metallic. Duplicolor GM Bahama Blue Metallic (CBGM0533). The match is so close any difference is barely noticeable. In fact even if you got a proper paint code they may not even be able to mix it this close. I'd say spent $12.00 and go to Canadian Tire and grab a can to try. Tank and side covers are original, fairing is painted. If you're doing a complete repaint that code should be perfect, if you're doing a colour match to original I doubt you would see any difference. Of course that would depend on any discolouration or fading over the years. All I have to do now is wait a few weeks of the paint to off gas, apply the decals and clear coat. I'll paint the bottom half of the EF fairing at the same time if not sooner and clear coat everything at the same time.

Sandy, is there any chance that you would know if that blue is the same as a US spec 85 1150 es?
Ivg got 2 1984 lowers and an 84 front fender (different blue). 20140214_231319.jpg a really close rattle can match would be worth my while.sigpic

According to this color chart http://www.alpha-sports.com/suzuki_p...q=suzuki-parts the colors are pearl shiny white and space blue metallic, so you should be in luck with that color mentioned.1978 Gs1085 compliments of Popy Yosh, Bandit 1200 wheels and front end, VM33 Smoothbores, Yosh exhaust, braced frame, ported polished head

Great, thanks for checking that out. it would please the wife greatly to lose the Team Dinosaur "logo" on the black panel....Then I could redo it on blue....According to this color chart http://www.alpha-sports.com/suzuki_p...q=suzuki-parts the colors are pearl shiny white and space blue metallic, so you should be in luck with that color mentioned.

Swing and a miss......I didn't take note that Sandy's ES wan an 84. I found the paint at the auto supply and put my panel next to it and it didn't match nor was it close. Turns out the 85 blue is called Candy Alpine Blue. That GM color does look line a darn good match for an 84 though. Now im on a bit of a quest and will be travelling with my panel visiting auto supply stores.....sigpic
