    Seat repair/ Gas milage

If this has been covered in another thread, if you could point it at me I'd appreciate it.

It was a little cold here the other day, (24F) and as I was knocking the frost off my seat, I put a split in it. Plus a hole has developed.

When I have the time I plan on redoing the seat but in the meantime, anyone know a patch or other temp fix I could do?

Also, how many miles roughly should I see from a tank? (Stock tank, 850GX, 14K miles. 4 gal, I think)

    Thanks

Black Duct Tape worked well, if not stylishly, until I got a new seat cover. I think most 850 G's had a tank of over 5 gallons which might yield 200 miles or significantly less depending on the riding style and how the bike is running. If it is an 850 GLX, the tank will be smaller depending on the year and the range proportionately less. 40 mpg would be pretty good for all-around riding. Maybe more cruising sedately on a back road or a lot less with spirited stop and go around town.

I find working on my motorcycle mildly therapeutic when I'm not cursing.
