Highway pegs gs850 L?
Ok so I am going to forget about the forward controls on my gs850 L. Based on what I have read they are not as easy on your back over obstacles. I do however like the foot peg idea. I currently have foot pegs on my gs the stock ones on the crash frame. Those however I way to close for me since I am tall six four. So my question which high way pegs work well with the gs? I am not sure all pegs will work since the gs has a large motor that sticks out both sides.

You short guys just like to whine about your problems, don't you?
(I passed six-four before I was in high school.

Take a look at the pictures in my sig, you will see where I have pegs on my 850 and my wife's 850L. Hers are hard to see, they are in pretty much the same place as mine.
That location is not really a place to strretch out, it's more of a change of position than a stretch.

Just kidding. Well it just seems like most bikes are small for me. But that could all be in my tall head. I currently have the same pegs on my bike that you both do. I have seen some attached to the frame further up. I was thinking about removing the crash bars around the engine and installing some pegs on the frame that adjust closer or further I will probably go further.

I haven't used them yet, but they were there when I bought the bike. Basically a 1/2" square steel bar with some pegs bolted to it, and u-bolts attaching it to the frame.Comment

Yea that is basically what I drew up. It would be very easy to make. Lemon, could you give them a try and report back on vibration? I am betting some rubber between frame and bar is needed but i'm curious to hear about it from your actual experience.Comment

Sure, but I won't be able to ride for a week or two. Waiting on clutch parts.
If I'm not mistaken, there's no rubber at the mount for the stock pegs, just rubber where your foot rests. So I would expect that's all you would need.Comment
