Both bikes are listed at over twice what those models in that condition generally bring.

But, as a seller, you can't negotiate up, so you might as well start high.

MMmm.. the 1000 is cherry, looks like ever square inch of it is in showroom condition. It's worth 2000 easy if it runs like it looks, and I wouldn't feel terrible paying a little more.

Worthless is a bit harsh. As has been said, if someone is willing to pay it, then it's worth it. That being said, you can buy a bike from within the last decade for $4000-4500, so unless you really want a GS badly and don't want to do the work (probably still need maintenance work done), then you wouldn't buy these bikes.

That is certainly the rub, and a big wake up call for me: the maintenance. I had no idea what I was getting into. I have a 1983 Yamaha Riva scooter which still runs OK with nothing but an oil change and tires for the five years I've owned it.

Advertised as 1500 original miles , odometer shows 18000 miles far cry from 1500. Priced way to high

The 1000G has the paint off the side of the tail from a rack, and a missing grab rail on the seat. The paint thing looks bad to me.
