fiberglass cafe seat questions
making a racer on a budget. was going to buy a fiberglass seat but wasnt quiet sure how to mount it. i dont really have access to welding equipment. was wondering what the best way to mount the seat. it would have to be removable but not in a hurry. thanks

you can buy or make a seat. i made my seat, it doesnt look pretty, but i made it cheaper than buying a premade one. just need some tape, fiberglass, resin and time. once you get it made you can bondo and prime it -

I have fiberglass seats on both my flattrack racers from grand prix glass works. The seat bolts to the frame and I use Velcro to attach the seat pad to the base. Works on the trailer at over 70 mph with nobody on the seat. I'll send pictures later if needed. PaulComment

I didn't use foam to mold my seat. I just taped over the frame. then laid the fiberglass. it fits the frame tight and no need to bolt it. I have had my bike in the bed of my truck doing 65-75 and seat never move. I plan to trim my seat and add a hinge to the front so I can flip it up when I want to access the electronics. if you need foam you can get it for 5 bucks at a craft store and maybe 5 bucks for some spray adhesive.Comment

You can fab up something with a board or some metal that utilizes the frame hinges to attach the seat to the frame.Comment
Above Above is my stock framed bike and Here is my J&M framed tracker. .Both with similar seats held on in the same fashion. Paul
