What kind of seat do I have?

I've had a 1981 gs750e for about 4 years. I rode it around on and off for about a year and a half after putting a little bit of work into it when I first got it from a friend. He had received it from his dad, who had gotten it from some other guy. It sat around for about a year and then I started to do some more work on it about this time last year.
The seat cover was cracked and split, so I thought I'd try buying a new one off of ebay to replace it. I ordered the cover for the seat that came with an '81 gs750e but when it arrived, it turns out that its not even remotely the same.

My question is, what kind of bike did this seat come from? I'd like to know so I can order an appropriate seat cover. The foam and seat pan are still mostly salavagable, so I'd still like to go with my plan of getting a new cover.

Here's some photos of the seat on the bike:

And what it looks like partially naked:

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

It doesn't look like any stock seat I've seen, but could be an "L" seat of some sort of a different cover.

This kinda looks like it, it's a 750L.

I think it was the stock seat at one time. Why do I say that, the grab bar and the trim on the side are exactly like the stock seat. They just modified it to its current shape. I've this once before years ago. Can you post a pic of the seat pan? Is there some welds there?

There is a vendor on eBay that makes quality covers for most bikes and IIRc id they dont make a particular model, they will make a free one if you send them your cover.

I'm thinking that it wasn't ever the stock seat for the gs750e, at least. I say this because of the cover that I bought last year to replace it was labeled as being for the 750e, and it's literally about half the size of my current seat. There's no way that that little amount of leather could cover this foam and pan. I'll take some more pictures of the pan and foam tomorrow and post them up.

The cover that I tried buying last year to replace mine was made by Pit Replica, which I think is the same company you're referring to who will make a copy of yours for free if they don't have a version in stock.
I might just try to hit them up for this very reason, now that you've brought it up.
