    Identify a bike please.

I recently picked up a Canadian model, 1980 gs1100es.I cant seem to find pictures or info on it. Is it a legit bike, or is it someones creation? Was going to slowly restore it, but if it is a franken bike I might as well keep it franken. I could post pictures if needed.
    Thoughts?

Trying to identify a bike without a picture is like trying to identify a suspect without a description.
The GS1100ES came out in '83.

I thought that the ES was introduced in 1983. I'm sure of it.

the last letter in the model number denotes the year of that model
                  eg N = 79 T = 80 X = 81 Z = 82 D = 83 F = 84 G = 85 H = 86

it did start to get alittle confused when they intro'ed a 3rd letter indicating faired and unfaired models

eg ED 83 naked ESD 83 fairing EF 84 naked EFE 84 fairing

It was a one year only bike, according to the chart, and it was '83.
