Best place to get seat cover?

    So I need to replace a seat cover on a 1977 GS750B.

I had thought about getting the seat custom upholstered, but that is more than likely out of my budget. (I thought red stitching n some memory foam would be cool, but I want to keep it original.)

So my question: Where is the best place to get a correct replacement seat cover?

I see them on ebay and some UK sites, but I want a quality piece with quality materials, which is why I ask.

    Thanks

They produced the GS 1000 ST "european" seat cover following the one I sent them.
      Absolutely perfect!

Pit Replica is the best I have used. I had a hard time putting it on my myself, but it looks great. Look hard at what they have. In a number of cases, they don't know themselves what is what in their catalog. At least last time I bought from them.

I don't have any suggestions on where you might get a replacement seat cover but did you consider doing it yourself? Here is a pretty good link with info on what's involved.

I wouldn't use memory foam as it is stiff in the cold and tends to compress and bottom out after sitting on for awhile. I am fortunate to have a wife who can take the original seat cover apart and make a pattern with slight changes as needed for a new one. We use heavy duty black outdoor use vinyl purchased from a Joanne Fabric store which is smooth and softer than the original but still durable. About $20/sq yd and we buy 1 sq yd to do a whole new seat over. An electric knife purchased at a Goodwill or thrift store for $3 works great for shaping foam. Use the 3M spray adhesive for adding layers of foam as no other stuff will work or stick properly. We've done 3 seats ourselves and I can do small custom changes to my liking as we go. You can practice using the knife for shaping on an old unneeded seat foam before attempting on the good one. Just shave a little off at a time and try sitting on the bike with it. Then when you're happy start on mounting the seat cover.

Thanks for all the replies and input, I appreciate it

It looks like a Pit Replica is the consensus. I'll be ordering one up.

                Thanks again : )

John Kat, you mentioned they made on like special order for you? I have a non-oem race seat that needs some work. Send them the cover and they reproduce it?

A couple of years ago I sent them my U.S. spec GS1000ST seat. Since they did not already have this one in their inventory, they produced it and sent me the first one for free.

This was their policy, if they didn't have your seat cover, supply the template and you get one for free.

I am not sure if they will consider doing a non oem seat, as you will most likely be the only one interested.

It's worst an email. I dealt with a person that goes by the name TC.

If you want something that looks like factory Pitt Replica for sure.Custom doesn't have to be expensive though.

Had a local upholsterer do up this cover for my 85 750EF,it was $90.
