How hot do the carbs get? High heat needed?

So, tomorrow I will probably be tearing down my carbs and testing a couple colors to see how it will look on the bike. Because of the proximity to the engine, do the carbs ever get that hot?

I think I can get by without using the high heat powder

Polyester powder should be fine on the carbs.
Proper prep is essential as with anything.
The High heat is rated for up to 1000 deg, don't think that is needed.
I've used the polyester on Harley heads and jugs with no problems, and with the carbs being away from the heat ...should be fine.
    Have fun

+1, ride a while and then feel a carburetor, they don't get all that hot.

After all, it's probably the only part on the bike that is "liquid-cooled".

... and in fact, on many parts fiches, what we call 'intake boots' are labeled as 'insulators', since they lessen the transfer of heat from the cylinder head to the carbs.

Thanks guys that's what I thought! Just wanted to make sure before I sprayed and had to take them apart and strip them because the powder was flaking

Will do! Thinking about red bodies with matte black rails/caps/bowls.
