    Plastic fenders that fit a 1978 GS1000E

    Folks,

Are there any plastic fenders from a later model of GS that fit the 1978 GS1000E - I would like to trim one into a custom shape and using a plastic one would suit my purposes much better.

Also, my original chrome steel one has a large wrinkle in it :-(

I have one, but to make sure, give me the distance between fork legs at the flanges they bolt to please.

No, I mean between the left fork and the right fork fender mounting surface.

The 83 GS1100E plastic one fits fine. I have one fitted right now to the skunk. I am not using the metal fork brace that it comes with (as I have a Tarozzi fork brace fitted).

I believe it will still fit whether you use the metal brace or not.

Salty - that's exactly what I was looking for!

tkent02 - is the aforementioned fender the one you have?
