    Tail/Rear Cowl dimensions - gs1000e vs gs850g

Anyone know if the tail cowl has the same length/dimensions on the 850g (or 1000g, for that matter) as it is on the 1000e? Mine is cracked and I want to replace it... Somehow the 850g looks a little longer in the pics.
    Thanks.

It's the same part for the early 850s.

            Hmmm. My 1000E is a 78.
What are the dimensions of the tail from the 850g?
            Thanks.

I can measure mine when I get home tonight.

But there could be other differences as well such as tool compartment, mounting position and stud length.

The length less the mldg appears to be the same (7-9/16" top middle). the tool compartment and and angularity at the forward end is completely different between the two.

Thanks, RB -- I can see it now. Very helpful. I'll check the local boneyard for a 1000 tail.
                  Much appreciated!
