Non cheap/crappy looking headlight bucket and bracket for 1978 GS1000

    Folks,

The headlight bucket on my 1978 GS1000 is cracked and I hate the bracket - any suggestions on a chrome bucket and bracket setup that doesn't look like it fell off the back of a truck in China?

    Thanks!

Post pics of the offensive looking parts may help.

As for brackets..long as they arent bent the stockers are easily stripped and repainted. Bucket fits many models but most notably he 77 and 78 750s are the same as the stock 78 1000 buckets. Again, even if they arent shiney new, the buckets are easily painted to look fantastic.

The ears arent supposed to be chrome..gloss black is the way they were.

Note that 750 ears will NOT fit on a 1000..different fork diameters. 1000s are bigger than 750s.

Chrome headlight ears from an L model (if that is what you are looking for) and either an L model headlight bucket or one from a Yamaha XS 750/850 for a chrome replacement with
the Yamaha unit being the same size as your stock headlight and the L model being smaller.

Check out Speedmotoco.com's selection of lights and brackets. Mike's XS also has some good ones (many are the same).

I have a brand new aftermarket light that might work for you.
